I’m a bit of a fake tan novice. Up until last summer, the only time I’d ever really used fake tan was in the dark ages of year eleven. I used to stand in the bath naked as a newborn, spray my Garnier gradual tan liberally to said body, wake up the next morning with streaks aplenty before being hounded by my P.E. teacher; asking me repeatedly why I refused to take off my school jumper. Detention often followed.

Thankfully now I’m a bit more skilled than that. St Tropez was my Holy Grail last summer – it gave me that streakless, sunkissed suntan I’d idolised in the entirety of my twenty years on this planet. It became a regular purchase.

    So, why the change?

The simple fact of the matter is, thirty quid is a lot to be paying for constant tan-related maintenance. Realistically, I have more constructive things to spend my not-at-all-earned money on. Family bags of Doritos, for example (just kidding. I had to stop doing that.).

Long-story-short, I decided to try my luck while en route to Boots Opticians on Friday morning. I found a lot of alternatives to St Tropez, don’t get me wrong; but they were all priced in the 20s, 30s, even 40s if you can believe it! But one large bottle of instant tan stood out to me. One large, gold, £14.99 bottle…

Despite the price-point, I believe Bondi Sands’ Self Tanning Foam actually had the most eye-catching packaging. The simple-yet-sophisticated black-and-gold (Sam Sparro, anyone? Aussies? No?) bottle drew me to the product instantly. You can tell Bondi Sands take great pride in their branding!

Onto the product itself. I actually made a mental note of one component in particular; the smell. The Self Tanning Foam has a refreshing, gorgeous coconut-scent. It completely reminded me of drinking Malibu on the beach – nice touch! A far cry from the poster-paint smell of other instant tan mousses.

I’ve adopted this instant-tan for just over twenty-four hours now, and I’m seeing some great results! It’s streaklessly perfect, for one thing. Something I wasn’t expecting due to the price-point. I’m feeling sunkissed, and looking like I really did spend a week in Bondi Beach!

My verdict: GO AND GET YOURSELF SOME BONDI BEACH ACTION! At £14.99, this product is an absolute winner. I’ll definitely be purchasing it again.
